Dan Jewell
Class of 1979
Army, 13 Years
Dan served with the 2nd Ranger Bn for a number of years.I ran across him when I was asssigned there.He was wounded during the invasion of Panama in 89 and I believe medically retired in 92 due to his wounds.Dan is 2nd from left in pic.

* Persian Gulf War veteran with 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne).
* Organized and supervised a group of 10 personnel in successful completion of various missions as platoon Squad Leader.
* Received Meritorious Service Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Presidential Unit Citation, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medals, and Purple Heart Medal for injuries sustained in combat.
* Joined the 296th Army Band stationed in Japan as musician (trumpet) acting as ambassadors to the country.
* Performed various military and Japanese government events as well traveling throughout Japan performing for many public events.
