Enlisted in 1976 as a security policeman with assignments at Pease AFB, NH (76-79); Osan AB, Korea (80-81); Fairchild AFB, WA (81-83). Cross-trained into the Air Force History Program in June 1981 and served as historian at Ellsworth AFB, SD (83-84); RAF Alconbury, England (84-88); George AFB, CA (88-90); RAF Bentwaters, England (90-93); RAF Lakenheath, England (93-00); retired Aug 00. Entered DoD civil service Sep 2000 (historian) at Andersen AFB, Guam, Hickam AFB, HI, Ramstein AB, Germany, and Barksdale AFB, LA. Deployed to Turkey during Operation Desert Storm and to Silopi, Turkey and Zakho, Iraq during Provide Comfort. Deployed to Italy and Sarajevo during Operation Deny Flight and later Joint Endeavor in 94 and 97. Deployed to Cervia, Italy during Allied Force (Kosovo). Served as part of JTF staff on USS Mt Whitney during JTF Lebanon (06) and deployed to the CAOC at Al Udeid, Qatar, for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (08). Now serving as command historian at Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale AFB, LA.

Served in London, England; Several Bases in the US, one tour in Thailand (1968). Spent most of his time in Legal Administration, Personnel Management, Accounting and Finance, Auditing and Teaching. Spent considerable amount of his service time either in the classroom receiving his BBA (Univ of Okla 1964) and MBA (Mich State Univ 1968 and just prior to retirement was running the Applied Military Comptrollership Course at Sheppard AFB, TX. Retired May 1972 at the rank of Major.
