Our 55th class reunion is just 5 months away and we hope that you are planning on joining us for a weekend of fun and renewing old friendships. The class of ’63 will be joining us this year! What you need to know:

• Hotel Reservations: 1-800-362-2779 Code S55. Only a certain number of rooms at a special price have been set aside for our class. If you are staying at the hotel, there is a free full breakfast each day and free happy hour every evening.
• Price for the weekend: $125 per person (includes Friday night, Saturday night, great band, decorations, mailings, rental of ballroom, rental of hospitality suite, photographer, bartender Saturday night, etc.

Roger John Stafford, 68, died April 9, 2012, at Medicana Nursing Home in West Palm Beach. He was born in Pittsburgh, and lived in Fort Pierce for 44 years, coming from Fort Lauderdale. He was an Indian River Community College professor for almost 20 years. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. Survivors include his former wife of 23 years, Beth C. Jones of Boone, N.C.; daughter, Rebecca S. Jones of Port St. Lucie; son, Robert J. Stafford of Fort Lauderdale; sister, Linda S. Akerberg of Port St. Lucie; friend, R.M. Woodall of Vero Beach; and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lucie County Humane Society, 100 Savannah Rd., Fort Pierce, FL 34982; www.hsslc.org. Services: A private memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are by All County Funeral Home Crematory.

Death of 1961's Dorsey M. Maynard
Dorsey M. Maynard, (68), passed away Sunday July 29, 2012 in Covington, Ga. He grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, graduated from Stranahan High School in 1961, attended Freed Hardeman College in Tennessee, and served four years in the Air Force before going to work at Northwest Airlines in Anchorage, Alaska and later in Memphis, TN, until he retired after 36 years. He moved to Social Circle, GA in 2010.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, brother, and their families. He is also survived by his ex-wife Jean Ward Maynard, Stranahan class of 1962.

In June of 1959, the first graduating class of Stranahan High School walked across the stage and received their diplomas, starting a legacy. This year the graduating class of ’09 has marked a very important time in our history; our 50th anniversary. To celebrate the 50 years of the past, an alumni celebration will be held and you are cordially invited. The events are as follows:

*Throughout the night, a Silent Auction will be taking place. All proceeds from this will be going to Stranahan’s Student Government Association.

The 3rd Annual Stranahan Alumni Multi-Class Get-Together has officially been scheduled for:

Everyone and anyone who is 21 yrs or older and has attended Stranahan High School as a student or faculty member is welcome to attend this event. There is no cover charge, so if you wish to eat or drink at the Quarterdeck, you will need to pay for your own items.
This is our third year having this event and it has been growing each year. The first year had sixty people show. Last year, we had over one hundred people show. We would love for this annual event to get larger and allow old friends to reconnect.
Please, let everyone that you are still in touch with know about the event. If you would like to try and find people that you have fallen out of touch with and invite them, we would greatly appreciate it.
