Robert was a lifelong friend. We played baseball together at the Rock Pit. Robert and I were drafted into the Army just a few days apart. Due to some Army delays we both started and ended our Basic Training on the same dates. Although we were in different training companies, our paths crossed on several occasions. During the night infiltration course, we accidentally met up behind a log while taking a rest. We had quite the laugh and talked for a while swapping stories. After the Army we both attended Florida State University and lived across the street from each other. We remained in touch during the following years always speaking on our birthdays which were only a few days apart. I learned of his death when he didn't contact me one year on my birthday which was only a few days after his passing. I miss him.

Robert was a kind gentle person who didn’t have a mean body in his bones. He served his country proudly in the Army for four years, and then proceeded to get his degree at Florida State University (FSU). He was the youngest of five siblings (4 girls 1 boy) so needless to say he was spoiled and loved. He passed away from cancer and went to meet the Lord and his pain was all gone.
