Vida Marie Woolery Maddox, 77, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born May 29, 1939, to Floyd Edgar Woolery and Lillian Alice Wright Woolery. She graduated from Manter High School in 1957.
In 1958, she married Donald Post. He preceded her in death. In 1965, she married Stanley Ping. They later divorced and he also preceded her in death as did her father; a daughter, Lorri Cullison; and a sister, Wanda Jones.
A certified nurse's aide, she had worked at Hamilton County Hospital and also was an emergency medical technician for many years.
Survivors include her mother, Lillian Alice Woolery; a sister, Lois Hudgens; two sons, Steven Post of Manter, and Darin Post of Johnson City; three daughters, Dyvonne Sides of Hugoton, Elaine Meeks of Haysville, and Dawn Higgins of Buckeye, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at the Wesleyan Church in Syracuse. Inurnment will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
