Rosalee Bitner Gibson was born November 10, 1927 at home in Stanton County, Kansas. She graduated from Manter High School in 1945. She then attended Emporia Teachers' College and taught school at Lone Star School located north of Manter, Kansas for one year.
On June 9, 1946 she married Glen Gibson. They had four children; Harold, Nancy, Mona and Robin. She was a stay at home mom until 1975 when she began working as a bookkeeper and in retail sales until she retired in 1997. She crocheted over 100 afghans for her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and other family members after she retired. She also enjoyed going to Colorado Rockies baseball games and visiting with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; grandson, Jackie Frost; great-grandson, Mason Frost; parents, Pete and Gladys Bitner; and three brothers, Lynn, Guy and Laurence Bitner. She is survived by her children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and many other family members.
She left us on May 15, 2011.
