About (no additional information)
Events Jim A. Hansen, of Bremerton, WA, died unexpectedly on December 23rd, 2018 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. He was surrounded by family members.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Amy (Amiele); his sister, Judy; his brothers, Ron and Richard; his three children, Joel, Wendy, and James; and his many loving grandchildren and extended family.

Jim was born in Tacoma, WA, to June Rainey (Hansen) and George Reis. Jim attended Jason Lee Junior High and Stadium High schools in Tacoma. It was at Stadium that he met the love of his life, Amy, whom he eventually followed to Washington State University, his alma mater. Anyone who knows Jim will attest to his love of, and enthusiastic identity with, anything having to do with the WSU Cougars.

Upon graduation from WSU, Jim and Amy moved back to Tacoma to start a family. Jim taught English at Truman Junior High and Wilson High schools. He was a well-liked and respected teacher, and earned the affection of many in the community.

After earning his administrative credentials in education, Jim moved with Amy to the country, near Seabeck, WA, where they resided for the last 30 years. Jim served as Vice Principal at North Kitsap High School for two decades. In his remaining years, Jim enjoyed a peaceful and idyllic farm life with Amy, boarding horses and raising chickens. He was an avid outdoorsman and golfer. Most of all, Jim was a big personality with a big heart—he will be dearly missed.
