Became Airborne in the 82nd Airborne Division. 45 jumps with some in Panama and Canada. Loved it.

Navy Reserves, 20+ Years
Commander, Civil Engineer Corps, United States Navy. 30 years of continuous service. 12 years enlisted as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Second Class Petty Officer, US Navy Seabees. Mobilized to SouthCOM(2003), Iraq(2008) and Afghanistan(2013). Also mobilized in support of relief efforts during Hurricane Katrina. Currently serving in NAVFAC CEU, Washington DC.

Served 7 1/2 years as an Air Traffic Controller aboard the USS Saratoga and then transferred to the Marine Corps for 2 1/2 years and served with the Marine Corps Auxiliary Security Force.

Spent 87-93 as an Operating Room Surgical First Assist at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego for the first year..then the remaining 5 at Bethesda Naval Hospital...after Bart Bruchok graduated the Naval Academy we actually were stationed for about two years at the same time at Bethesda and rented a house together outside of Washington DC..small world.

ENLISTED DEC 21, 1967 AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL SHORT STINT AT PSU. THEY GAVE ME A CHOICE BETWEEN QUITTING OR GETTING KICKED OUT. SOOO BEFORE CALLING HOME, I WENT IN TO USAFD RECRUITER IN STATE COLLEGE AND SAID "SIGN ME UP". SPENT MOST OF MY 10 1/2 YRS AS A RADIO COMMUNICATIONS ANALYST. SPENT 3 TOURS IN SOUTHERN ITALY FOR 4 1/2 YRS AND 1 YR IN THAILAND TOWARDS THE END OF NAM. 1ST MARRIAGE IN '68 LASTED 2 YRS BUT GOT A GREAT DAUGHTER OUT OF IT. GOT OUT OF AF FOR 2ND TIME FEB 1980. SPENT MOST OF NEXT 21 YRS IN CONSTRUCTION. NOW FINALLY RETIRED AND LIVING IN THE POCONOS WITH 2ND WIFE (25 YRS) AND 3 ADOPTED KIDS. ALL SIBLINGS SON 15, DAUGHTERS 13 & 12. Designated Naval Aviator 7 Dec 1973 and flew P-3 Orion patrol planes with VP-10 in Brunswick, ME and later with VP-67 Reserves in Memphis, TN with deployments to Bermuda, the Azores, Spain, Japan, and Okinawa. After 13 years joined the Army National Guard in Springfield, MO and flew Huey and Blackhawk helicopters for 17 years with travel to Panama, Guatemala, and spent 2004 year in the "big sandbox" with fun-in-the-sun in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Mandatory retirement in 2008. God Bless America!
