Brianne Catherine Schwantes, 36, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016. A native of South Milwaukee, WI, Brianne was a graduate of South Milwaukee High School, attained her undergraduate degree at American University in Washington, DC and her Master’s Degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At age 8, Brianne testified for the first of seven times before Congress to ask for more funding for the National Institutes of Health. Brianne’s philanthropic activities are noted in President Bill Clinton’s book “Giving” as well as Hillary Rodham-Clinton’s book “It Takes a Village”. Brianne represented Wisconsin at the 2003 Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, was an ambassador with the Heart of America Foundation, a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and served on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of Washington County. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2507 5th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172. A visitation will be held prior to the celebration, on Saturday, August 27th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee. A luncheon will follow at Pulaski Banquet Hall, 3900 E. Pulaski Avenue, Cudahy, WI 53110 at 1:00 p.m. Brianne is survived by her mother, Theresa Gilgenbach Schwantes and father, Terry Schwantes, her grandmothers Eileen Catherine Gilgenbach of Oconomowoc, WI and Ione Katherine Schwantes of New Bern, NC as well as her sister Elizabeth Maule, and husband Jesse; and her nephews Stone, Crosby, Maxwell and niece Ruth as well as her cousins and countless friends.
