Col. John G Ignarski USAF Ret'd (deceased)
Class of 1950
My late husband was actually class of 1948. He made great accomplishments after leaving your High School. He went to UK as a Bear Bryant Boy, then commissioned into the Air Force to eventually retire as Col. He had a distinguised military career awarded many medals including a bronze star and other. He then had a commerical career in th eMiddle East before following the troops around teaching for the University of Maryland in Europe. He obtained an MBA from the Ohio State University.
He was a generous man and has left a scholarship fund at University of Kentucky which will benefit under priviledged children from South Milwaukee to attend UK in the future.
He also donated all his memorible to the South Milwaukee High School to encourage other children from the Projects to gain benefit from an education.
He was always thankful for the opportunity your school gave him.
