Class of 1973

I was removed from a secure cell at Roswell Air Force Base because the Colonel wanted me to show him and his engineering team how to operate the highly advanced orbital landing craft designed to enter planetary gravity wells. Even the present generation four and five fighter aircraft of the present day could not match the orbital lander's performance envelope. I brought the spacecraft up to operational status and verified that it's previous flight (when the government forces surprised its pilot and captured the craft), barely used a small fraction of a gram of its antimatter fuel and its reaction mass. I activated the craft's security systems and immobilized the colonel's engineering team and himself and removed them from the spacecraft without harming them. I fired the craft's anti collision system and breached the hangers roof wide open, and accelerated out of there in a 9 gravity climb. A few minutes later I was free and in orbit looking at the beautiful little world I was exploring before the Air Force captured me and my landing craft. My craft plotted an expeditious course for my mother ship which was hidden in its grotto in a medium sized rock which was about two miles in diameter. Once we were under acceleration the spacecraft asked me if I would like to be reinstalled in my birth body, I don't know what those Air Force folks did to me that affected my memories of my previous life, but I have my original body back, but it's nice to have eight legs and eyes again. That skinny little human body couldn't compete with my 194 kilogram body back and since I spent nearly 70 years on the earth, I'm setting course for my homeworld a bit more than11,000 light years away in the Milky Way's Sagittarius arm. I'll take a nice long nap, and I'll be back home in just another 11,573 years.
