Steve Leal

Class of 1965

After high school I worker on pipe lines and oil refineries. Took a few classes at Laney. Was in Vietnam 68-69. Went back to school. Won a Ford Fourdation scholarship to UCSC got BA in political science. Went to grad school two years. Left and did community organizing. Worked to create historic districts. Ran for office in 1989I was a City Councilman and Vice Mayor from 1989-2009. I then had a radio talk show for four years. Leal All Things Political.
