About Me A poet, a gardener, and Life is made of both of these and God is forever with me. Born in Everett, WA. Lived in both Everett and Seattle (Ballard) as baby. As toddler moved with parents to live in Sweden. Lived in Kalmar and Ostersund, Sweden. Moved back to USA to Seattle, WA. Have lived in Lynnwood, WA, Simi Valley, CA, Panorama City, CA, Annapolis, MD, Whidbey Island, WA, Federal Way, WA, and finally back to Whidbey Island. To me, my family is most important, for I love them all deeply. Most people who truly know me know that while I do not mention my religious views, it is not because I am not religious. In college, I minored in Philosophy of Religion, and studied many different religions, especially Judaism. My first husband was Jewish and it meant much to me to know as much as possible, and we did indeed have a joyful Jewish wedding, one I shall never forget. I still respect and enjoy the knowledge I gained. As well I had so many college friends who were Jewish and they were wonderful friends. I miss those I no longer hear from. My second marriage to Joseph has meant a great deal to me. He is a kind and loving person. I have never known a man who could be so strong and yet so gentle, who loves Nature as I do, and shares my personal political beliefs, although sometimes, I am more objective about some political figures, whatever their parties may be. We were married in Trinity Lutheran Church. I as a child, had been raised to be Lutheran, and I do believe that God is within Everything, all people, all of Nature, the Earth itself, and I do believe He listens to our prayers, we just must not give up. Joe was brought up differently; I doubt he ever missed a single day of church since his birth. My father however, influenced me most about his idea of what Christianity was in his mind. He was very in touch with Nature, saw the Earth as precious, and understood that you could be very spiritual without attending church. I share his beliefs in many ways. I love my gardening, for it is my way of creating art upon the Earth's canvas. I write because I must. When something weighs upon my Heart, or gives me such Joy, I write and usually in the form of Poetry. I just wish each person on Earth would relish in the joys that would be possible if only we could gaze steadfast at the Goodness in All People, instead of concentrate on the Evil that does indeed exist in some. Perhaps one day, more people would realize that we are on this planet together, and must work together as all nations to preserve it and not destroy it. My son and I love the bald eagles, for their incredible beauty. And I know that both of us have always loved to hear their haunting calls. It often seems as if they are the "Eyes" between Heaven and Earth. Perhaps they possess some spirituality of their own. I believe it when my son tells me that he saw 2 eagles in a most unusual place, as if to bring in his attention and make him remember and feel the presence of my father. For if all my father's accomplishments were known, as he lived his Life in the face of danger from WWII, the poverty during the Depression, and his extreme Humility, I would have to say, he truly was and is both my children's hero, as well as my own. His bond with my mother was incredible and she was his "gift," as well. I wished that the world wer...(read more)
