Gary "Sarge" Bruenger
Gary "Sarge" D. Bruenger, 67, Ogden, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1941, in Chappell, Neb., the son of Walter W. Bruenger and Ada Claire Berry Bruenger. He grew up in Sidney, Neb., where he attended the local schools and was a graduate of Sidney High School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the U. S. Army for more than 20 years. He retired from active service in 1983 and had been a resident of Ogden since that time. He was a member of the Veterans Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include a brother, James F. Bruenger, Arvada, Colo.; and a sister, Cheryl Graham, Aurora, Colo.
Cremation is planned. There are no memorial services scheduled at this time. Graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Fort Riley. The Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan was in charge of arrangements.
