John Keith Gower: MSgt John Keith Gower, age 72, passed away Thursday, June 29th, 2023. John was born December 9th, 1950 in Washington D.C. and grew up in Burtonsville, Maryland. He graduated from Sherwood High School in 1969.
He joined the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea. He met his wife of 42 years, Myong, during his service. After 23 years of service, he retired and became a longtime resident of Biloxi, Mississippi. John studied at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. John loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. ohn was proceeded in death by his parents, Karl and Mary Virginia-Oglevay Gower. He is survived by his wife, Myong; his daughters, Virginia (Brian) Fletcher and Jennifer (Daniel) Hinders; his son, Michael along with his grandchildren, Matthew, Alexander, Olivia, Amelia, and Andrew. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Monroe; his nieces, Markie Monroe and Jennyfer Alvarez; and nephews, Jesi and Brian Monroe.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the medical providers and nursing staff at the Biloxi VA hospital. A visitation will be held at Bradford O’Keefe funeral home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, Mississippi on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7th, 2023. The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gower family.
