About Henry James Harrod, Jr. departed this side of Heaven on March 20, 2022. He was a veteran and survivor of the Vietnam war, businessman and devoted family man. He was surrounded by his wife Mary and family. As a boy, Henry attended Round Oak Baptist Church in Spencerville, Maryland. He participated in sports where he excelled and had a memorable time on the Sherwood Warriors Football Team. Uncle Sam called Henry to serve in the armed services in the earlier seventies where he was exposed to Agent Orange and tank explosions. He was honorably discharged and unfortunately experienced post-traumatic stress disorder, like thousands of other Americans. Our loved one could have ended up as another statistic “But God”. He used to sit on the porch in Spencerville and say, “hear that?” It would be dump trucks on Route 198. He loved that sound. Eventually, he started and grew a success trucking business named Harrod Trucking. He was also the advisor to K.L. Trucking. His love for cooking lead to his famous BBQ ribs that fueled to his passion for cooking. What followed was to be a second successful business named “Ribs on the Run”. Henry was admired for his genes of generosity and his pens saying Vietnam Vet. Henry loved candy and had enough for the world. He would say please take one and I mean O-N-E on your way out. He loved his family, and everyone loved him in their own love language. Lovingly submitted by the Family. VISITATION: Monday, March 28, 2022, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Mt.
