About | Louis Leroy Wright was born January 15, 1951. He is the third child of seven born to the late Estelle Louise Thomas and James Sylvester Wright Sr. (Barbara). Louis gained his wings to his heavenly home on January 6, 2021 with his wife and son by his side. Louis was 69 years old. Louis attended Harmons Elementary School and graduated from Sherwood High School. He was later baptized at Gethsemane Baptist Church and was called to ministry shortly after. While at Gethsemane, he was an Associate Minister for several years before leaving to serve as an Associate Minister at Second Antioch Baptist Church in Baltimore, where he grew under the leadership and guidance of Reverend Smith. Louis worked at the District of Columbia Youth Services for 31 years before retiring in 2002. After retirement he worked as a dedicated Security Officer at the Baltimore Washington Hospital in Glen Burnie, MD where he looked forward to visiting and talking to the patients daily. Louis met the love of his life and married Vilora Georgina Wright in August 1981. They were married 40 years. Louis had one son Victor Geoffrey Wright, one special niece Kia Marie Scott and honorary son William A. Jones Jr. Louis had one daughter-in-law Trudi E. Wright, three grandchildren, Mya E. L. Wright also known as “Panther”, Kyle L. Wright, and Trenice E. Brown. He also leaves to mourn six brothers and sisters James S “Michael” Wright Jr., Hope “Roxann” Sherrod (James), Alan “Uggie” Wright (Terry), Alice “Tina” Hunley, Gerald Wright and Cheryl Smith (Bruce). Nine brothers and sisters in law, Paulette Thomas, Wilma F. Martin (Donald), Debra A. Johnson, William G. Miller, Michelle A. Callender (Rosendo), Michael A. Miller, Mitchell A. Miller (Dana), Maria A. Carelock (Freddie), Marvin F. Miller (Teresa). Father-in-law William Miller, five god children Deena Myles, Daryl Wright, Rhonda Heard, Adrian Wynn, Sabrina Wright, Jessica Morgan and Malik Hunley. Four Aunts Gertrude Burley, Alice Hall (Arthur), Dorothy Hall, and Audrey Dailey, two uncles Pennington “Tic” Hebron (Dorothea) and James Hebron (Viola). His main partners Tyrone (BB) Johnson and Ed Davis. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Louis had a passion for playing and watching sports, a gift for talking to people, spending time with his family and friends and a devoted mentor. Lukey, Big Luke, Keg, Coach knew EVERYONE, and EVERYONE knew him. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. |
