Brice was adopted and his birth mother Janie Wegment was a friend of my mother. While Brice and I were working on the railroad one summer we went into Billings one evening and I introduced him to a friend of mine who was a son of Janie and Norm Wegment and I noticed the resemblance. When I got home to Sheridan that weekend I mentioned the episode to my mother and she told me to never tell Brice who his birth mother was or that I had introduced him to his full brother without knowing it. I felt that Brice deserved to have that information but I respected my mother's wishes and probably Janie and Norm's as well. I never asked my mother what the circumstances were behind Janie giving him up for adoption but it may have had something to do with the WWII time period. I still hoped Brice would discover his birth family and the two full brothers he had. I revealed what I knew to Father Ron Stolcis many years ago and hoped he would somehow facilitate that process.
