Dale M Preder
Class of 1976
Marine Corps, 5 Years
Enlisted: January 1977
Attended Boot Camp: San Diego, California
Stationed" Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii 3.5 years
Two Deployments in Western Pacific
Countries Visited while in: Okinawa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Africa, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, New Guinea, Thialand, Guam, and Fiji.
Was in the Indian Ocean when Americans were taken hostage in Iran for 444 days. Was part of the rescue effort.
Enjoyed the opportunity to visit the countries that I did. It gave me the opportunity to see poverty at its very lowest level and Wealth at its highest level. This experience has grounded me and made me realize how fortunate we all really are to live in a country that allows us the freedoms that we take for granted.
We should all count our blessings for the things we have and the country that we live in. No matter how bad things get in our personal lives...I have seen many people the have alot less. We are all very fortunate!
