Marine Corps, 6 Years
Served with Lima Co. 3/25 out of Columbus, OH. Was deployed to Iraq in 2005 to conduct combat operations in the Al Anbar province. Lima 3/25 became the most engaged unit since the Korean War. 23 Marines and sailors lost their lived during this deployment.

I joined the Marines in 1990 and retired in 2010. I served 2 tours as a Drill Instructor in San Diego, California and Quantico, Virginia. I served in the Persian Gulf, Somalia and Iraqi Freedom twice. I was Iraq for the invasion and the takeover of Baghdad and the Battle of Fallujah.

My husband, Bob, and I entered the Air Force together in 1977. After basic training, at Lackland AFB TX, we were assigned to Mather AFB, California. We were there until May 1981. We temporarily separated but re-enlisted in September 1981. We were then sent to Loring AFB, Maine. We were there until June 1984. Nellis AFB, Nevada was our next assignment and we remained there until July 1988. We then went to Grissom AFB, Indiana and was there until 1992. For our final assignment, we went to Tucson, Arizona, were I was assigned to AFROTC Detachment 020 at the University of Arizona. Bob was assigned to the 355th Civil Engineering Squadron on Davis-Monthan AFB. We are now both retired and remain in Tucson.

Sea commands include the USS Tarawa LHA-1, USS Orion AS-18, USS LaSalle AGF-3 and USS Harry S. Truman CVN-75. Shore assignments include Fleet Training Center, San Diego, California, Defense Mapping School, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Sardinia Italy, and the Navy Recruiting Command, Middletown, Ohio. Joined Navy Reserve May of 1999, mobilized to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with Naval Coastal Warfare Group November 2001. Second mobilization in October of 2002 to Naval Satellite Operations Station Prospect Harbor, Maine with immediate follow on orders to the USS Harry S. Truman homported in Norfolk, Virginia. Currently assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 27 out of Bangor, Maine.
