| About | For those that never knew, Craig and I moved to Houston together practically immediately after graduation and never looked back. Life took us in different directions, both good, but I always regretted not remaining close to him. I did however, keep abreast of many things about him. He did quite well for himself, which would not be a surprise to anyone who knew him. What a guy says it all about him. He was as good as anyone, but sadly he was overwhelmed with health issues and passed way to young. What an incredible friend he was to anyone who knew him. |
| Events | I wish I could share more, but Craig became very successful and lived in an impressive and amazing city in Texas known as The Woodlands. It was like a Corporate Woods in Overland Park, but an entire city. I did many construction jobs there from it's start when it was nothing but a swamp. He on the other hand Graduated from the University of Houston and owned a Tax Business for several decades. The Woodlands is located about 50 miles north of Houston near Conroe, but it was very common to do that drive every day. He and I both did that for many years. Texas was good to us both, however I've ended up " across the pond" (Gulf of Mexico) from Houston in Gulfport, Florida near St Petersburg/ Tampa. |

I can hardly say anything because this upsets me so much. Not many deaths have effected me like this one. I can hardly believe I didn't die first.
"The good die young", is so true. .
Craig was my favorite person I "EVER" knew. I'm sure I speak for anyone else, because he was the best friend of anyone he knew.
"What a guy" says it all.
Craig was a special person.
I should know.
We certainly were good friends. I'll stop there because Craig and I have definitely had a lot of significant events of life between us, especially from moving to Houston together, but regardless,..Craig was everyone's favorite. I was blessed to know him because I'm positive I turned out better because of our long friendship that also nvolved Texas together. Sadly life paths for us went different ways.
It happens as people become adults. We both moved to Houston
within week or so of graduation. We both moved together so we both could begin college there, and simultaneously our adult lives. Neither of us ever looked back and went back to Kansas. We were both suckers for a much warmer climate. It's ironic I ended up in St Petersburg, Florida...near Tampa, with my wife Debbie of 42 years. Tampa and Houston are very similar climate wise, and are often referred to as "across the POND (the Gulf of America) from each other. There have been many times I've gone to the West Florida coast, which we live on...and I'd think of Craig as I'd look from our Florida west GULF beach towards the east coast of Galveston, which more or less is part of Houston.
Sigh. I
....
.Rear in Peace my friend...rest in peace. I have no doubt you went to Heaven. To this day I've never had a better friend. Anyone else is someone among our original circle of friends, was my friend...bur it was YOU we loved the most. I know I'm right on that to all his other friends. Craig was the best friend of very many people
