argaret "Maggie" Mercer Phillips, age 64, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
She was born on November 1, 1957 in Albany, NY. She was the beloved wife of Harold Thomas "Tom" Phillips Jr. whom she married in 2009. Maggie was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Schenectady Community College in Schenectady, NY. After graduating college, she served in the United States Army.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Mercer Jr. and Shirley Arlene Bennett Mercer; stepdaughter, Betty Phillips and her sister, Faith Sanders.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by one stepdaughter, Kym Phillips; step grandson, Jareth Tucker; brother, William Mercer III; niece, Jennifer Sanders; nephew, William Sanders; special cousin, Cindy Wiles; and many other family members.
No formal services are planned at this time, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homestead Hospice and Palliative Care, 426 Cleveland St. Suite 3, Blairsville, GA 30512 or Paws4Life Humane Shelter, 261 Boen Creek Road, Tiger, GA 30576
