Ken moved to Seattle in 1970, so he did not graduate with his class. He went to Whitman College, received a Master's at Montana State, and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Washington. He is survived by his children, Hanna Sandbeck and Erik Sandbeck, his sister, Betty ('68), and his ex-wife, Lynn. May he rest in peace.
