I Graduated in 1994, shortly after I joined the Air Force. While serving I traveled across the world and country. Those travels includes: Saudi Arabia(three times), Denmark(greatest trip ever), Korea(second geatest trip), Ireland, Spain, Canada, Las Vegas, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida, ect. This has been a great experience. I am very humbled and open minded because I've been given the opportunity to be around different people from different backgrounds from all over the world.

CWO3 Eddie D. Jones was born in Savannah, Georgia. He is a 1986 graduate from Savannah High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy at MEPS Columbia, SC and reported to Recruit Training Command, San Diego, California on 11 June 1986. After completion of Recruit Training, he attended Radioman Class ‘A’ School at Service School Command/Naval Training Command, San Diego, CA from August 1986 to November 1986.

Education: He holds a Masters degree in Information Technology Management (MSITM) from the University of Maryland University College and a Bachelor degree in Information Technology Management (BSITM) from Armed Forces University.

His first assignment was to Commander Military Pre-Positioning Ships Squadron One, embarked aboard USNS JOHN P. BOBO from December 1986 to December 1987. His attentiveness to detail and leadership skills culminated he was advanced to Radioman Third Class. His next assignment was to USS SANTA BARBARA (AE 28), from January 1988 to January 1990. He was advanced to the rank of Radioman Second Class on 15 January 1990. He later transferred to Fleet & Mine Warfare Training Center Charleston SC, from November 1990 to November 1993 where he was assigned as an Advanced Communications Procedures instructor. He attended Communications Systems Tech Control School in San Diego, California from November 1993 to March 1994. He later transferred to COMSIXTHFLT embarked aboard USS BELKNAP (CG 26) and USS LASALLE (AGF 3) from March 1994 to March 1997 stationed in Gaeta, Italy. He was Staff Fleet Communications Assistant and COMSIXTHFLT Communications Watch Officer. He was advanced to the rank of First Class Petty Officer on 10 June 1995. His next assignment was aboard the USS PETERSON (DD 969) from April 1997 to June 1998 as OC01 division LPO. He transferred to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois from July 1998 to March 2000. He successfully transformed 600 recruits into highly motivated, truly dedicated sailors. On September 16TH 1998 he was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His next assignment was aboard the USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) from April 2000 to July 2003 stationed in Norfolk, Va. His next assignment was aboard the USS WASP (LHD 1) from August 2003 to May 2005 stationed at Norfolk, Va. He was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer on 9 May 2004. His next assignment was at Defense Information Systems Agency Manama, Bahrain from July 2005 to July 2006.


CWO4 Jones was commissioned to the officer rank on 1 March 2006 and reported to USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN-74) where he was assigned as the Communications Officer stationed in Bremerton, WA. His next assignment was aboard the USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7) as the Communications Officer, he served in that capacity for 18 months. His next assignment was in the Arabian Gulf stationed at U.S. Naval Computer Telecommunication Station Bahrain from January 2010 to April 2013.

Chief Warrant Officer Jones’s personal decorations include the Defense Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle “E”, Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (9 awards), NATO Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait) and Sharp Shooter ribbon.

Joined the Naval Reserve in 1970. Went on active duty in Nov 1971, and served aboard the destroyer USS Richard E. Kraus (DD-849) until Nov 1973. One deployment to Vietnam in 1972-73 where my ship was stationed on the gun line off the N. Vietnam coast providing shore bombardment supporting the U.S. Marines.

Enlisted in July 1966. Spent 2 years in Korea and 3 years in Germany. Was a Drill Sergeant for 8 years. Started out as a combat Infantry man but finally ended up a Military Policeman. Retired as a First Sergeant in 1987 but was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Storm to serve as First Sergeant of The U.S. Army Escort Detachment at Dover AFB in Deleware. My last big adventure was in 2004 and 2005 where I worked as an International Police Officer with the Dept. Of State in Jericho and Jerusalem Israel. I am now living in Topeka, Kansas but hoping to move back to Savannah before our 50th High School Reunion.
