Served in Frankfurt, Germany 7th General Hospital, in San Antonio, Tx Brooke Army Medical Center, in New York City Chief, Nurse New York Area Command, in Honolulu, Hi, Tripler Army Medical Center, Seoul, Korea and Taegu, Korea, at Fort Polk, La, Chief of Preventive Medicine, and Fort Bliss, Tx as Chief, Community Health, Chief Preventive Medicine and Chief of Put Prevention into Practice demonstration project. Retired BUT now work as DA Civilian at US Army Health Clinic, Dugway Proving Ground, UT.

Started as a private in 1971 working Counter Intelligence. Later change to the medical field doing various military jobs. In 1979 Commissioned as an officer in Nursing. Served in many aspects of nursing then settled on Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Did both Health Promotion Programs and Public Health Management and retired in 2000 as a Lt. Col.

I took basic at Ft. Ord , then Airborne AIT at Ft. Gordon GA. and Ariborne school at FT. Benning GA. I was with the 173rd Airborne paratroopers....during the year of 1967 to Tet offensive 1968 in Viet Nam. Upon returning I decided to give up jump status and just stay close to home at Ft. Ord for the remainder of my 3 years.

Five years USNR including two years of active duty. Completed USN boot camp with SCHS alumni Dean Hocum & Tony DeLuca. Then served 20 years in the U.S, Coast Guard.retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer (W3) with tours aboard seven cutters, including two icebreakers.

I joined the California Army National Guard right out of high school. I spent the majority of my career with a medical unit in San Francisco that was downsized and reorganized over the years. We started as the 146th Combat Support Hospital in San Francisco and ended up as the 297th Medical Company in San Mateo. My final year I worked at Camp San Luis Obispo preparing and coordinating Non-Commissioned Officer training. I retired as a Sergeant First Class after 22 years of service. My husband served with me many of those years. He is currently a Chief Warrant Officer 4 and has 39 years of service in the California Army National Guard.
