Army, 4 Years
I served as a Avionics, Navigation and flight control Equipment RepairTechnician. I worked on as well as flown in every class of hellicopter we have in US Army. I was responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting and repairs of everything electrical within the aircrafts. All wiring, all communication equipment, radar, tracking devices, and everything that makes it fly. The foot pedals that push the copter either up or down. The control stick that controls your pitch ( moving copters node or front downward or backwards. Your roll (moves copter in a rolling motion left and right. Last is the yaw ( moving the copter in a sweeping motion left or right). I inspected as well as trouble shot land placed marker beacons. Devices that send of a signal that aircrafts radios pick up when they are near it. When visibility is poor and you really can't tell what's below you or actual distance you are from the ground. Best part of that job was that for nearly 3 years I got to fly atleast 2 days every week to perform various tests and minor adjustments in every class and type of hellicopter the Army uses. I was even lucky enough to take the controls in mid flight and maneuver and fly an Apache attack helicopter. It was the newest and most advanced tactical, attack hellicopter at the time that I was in service.
