| About Me | I was married and had a daughter, (Amy) right out of high school, so I didn't pursue higher education right away. Eight years later I divorced my daughter's father, (Bruce Gunckel) and met my current husband, Lenny Goodell. I was a struggling single Mother, and he encouraged me to get financial aid and go to UNM. I attended there from 1987-1989 until Lenny graduated with his degree in Computer Science. Together with Amy we moved to Richardson, Texas where he worked at Texas Instruments and I finished college with a degree in psychology and a minor in American Sign Language. Then in 1993 I got a masters degree in Audiology and worked in a hearing aid factory as a technical audiologst. Lenny & I were married in 1994 on his parents ranch ouside of Durango, CO. We moved back to Albuquerque in 1998, where I continued in that field for another 4 years, followed by a brief 3 year stint in the pharmaceutical industry. That was when my health declined so much that I was forced to leave my job. In 2005 I was finally diagnosed with CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Dysfunction Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia. I suffer from acute fatigue, widespread pain and chronic migraines, among other things. Fortunately for me I had been very athletic for many years and my fitness level has helped. I continue to mountain bike, road cycle, hike, do yoga, and now I am a Reiki practitioner. I also benefit from weekly massage, acupuncture, chiropractics, and chinese medicine. It was during the acute phases of my symptoms that I discovered my need to create. It was also through the encouragement of a very special person, and a tragic event that I learned I could paint.
