About Me | -----What is there to tell? I'm a history nut, utterly fascinated with Greco-Roman civilization. My pride and joy is a small but growing collection of swords and armor. -----In high school, I was 10th in a graduating class of 647. I'm not really an overachiever, really most things just came easily to me (except math, sometimes I still wonder how I was ever able to pass the AP Calculus test...). I was president of the Sandalwood HS Latin Club as well as a member of the Latin Honor Society. I also competed at 11 separate JCL conventions. -----For two years I attended Florida State University, majoring in Classical Civilizations. My goal, at the time, was to follow up my Classics degree with a Masters in Education. Ultimately I wanted to teach History at the middle or high school level. -----I also happen to be an amateur clown and a proud member of FSU's own I Threwa Pi. Clowning has got to be the most perfect side gig anyone could ask for. Seriously. What other job allows you to make a complete ass of yourself, screw with random people, and frighten little children, all without fear of consequence or reprisal? A bit of grease paint and a silly costume gives me license to do anything I want with utter impunity--because I'm a clown and clowns are expected to act outside the norm! I could skip into the snootiest, most exclusive restaurant in town, uninvited, frolick around the kitchen, sit at peoples' tables, and nobody would say a thing (except, of course, to take a photo with me)! The staff would think someone in management hired me and to the customers I'm just part of the "dining experience." Clowning is also great for those times when you can't find any puppies to kick and you really need to relieve some stress, too. -----MY LATEST ADVENTURE On March 19th, 2008, I enlisted in the United States Navy as a Culinary Specialist. I shipped out to Recruit Training Command that September for boot camp and graduated Culinary "A" School with a meritorious promotion early February '09. I'm currently a 1st class petty officer stationed ...(read more) |
