About Me	When I graduated from San Juan in 1967, I went to ARC and took secretarial classes. I spent three years there and followed a boyfriend to Sac State where I took classes to become a teacher. In 1972, I acquired a summer job with the Sacramento Federal Probation and Parole Office and continued going to CSUS at night.and took all of the required classes toward a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice (my real passion.). In 1982, I got my first real job-that being a Federal Agent with the Defense Investigative Service, Sacramento, CA, where I conducted background investigations on people, both military and civilian, who needed security clearances. I subsequently worked in our Monterey Office, Santa Clara Office and back in our Sacramento Office. I worked as a Federal Agent from 1982 to 2006. Also, during this timeframe for about five or six years, I taught business courses at night at Santa Barbara Business College, Fremont, CA. As it turned out, teaching was truly a passion of mine. I ultimately retired from the Fed. Gov't in 2006 and lived the good life. As a lark, I thought why not see if I could start another career, and lo and behold, I applied for and ultimately was hired as an Investigator at Red Hawk Casino where I conduct background investigations on the employees, which is a really fun job, but only pays me about one third of what I as used to getting. I must say, this job has been fun at times and not nearly as stressful as that of being a Federal Agent. As an aside, from June 1977 to April 2000, I served in the California Army National Guard as a reservist with branches of Adjutant General Corps; Selective Service; and Military Police; and ulitimately retired as a Major.
