Dr. Lenell Navarre
Class of 1990
Dr. Lenell Navarre, a 1990 graduate of Salmen High and former Spartan football defensive player, was named the 2009 Educator of the Year by Phi Delta Kappa. Dr. Navarre, now principal of Bloom High School in Chicago, Heights, Illinois is taking the administrative position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in Illnois’s District 206 beginning in 2009. The Phi Delta Kappa award is presented to educators who have contributed above and beyond the call of duty in an effort to improve education and the way of life of Chicago area students.
