| About Me | Missed the 50th reunion - busy re-homing my mom from OR and younger daughter from NC. Originally from Holbrook, I worked part time and attended SUNY New Paltz for 2 years, then married in 1970. During that marriage, I had two daughters (now 44 and 48), volunteered for GSUSA, and received an AAS from SCCC and a BA from St Joseph's on LI, before moving, in 1985, to a small town in northeast PA, where I was one of four co-owners/co-managers of a rural campground, raised goats and chickens, and worked in human services. That marriage ended in 1990 and I moved to central NY where I taught for a BOCES, completed my MS from Marywood, and became involved in contradance. In 1994, I met my present husband, Craig, while contra-dancing. We married in 1996 and I moved to Glenville, NY where I became involved in traditional music (OldSongs.org) and the local contradance community (including DanceFlurry.Org). For 20 years, I commuted to the delightful town of Bennington, VT and taught at MAUHS where I also promoted inter-agency support for students transitioning from school to work or post-graduate education. Over the years, I learned that with integrity, faith, family, friends, and perseverance, I can do anything. Now retired, I sub part-time for 2 local districts. I enjoy baking (especially Holiday cookies), reading (Speculative Fiction), and the out of doors - camping, canoeing and hiking (no heights, please). I am re-learning how to crochet (ha) and am attempting to learn to play the bowed Psaltery (ha?). I have 3 grandchildren in NC, with whom I play chess and Scrabble via internet - I can hold my own. I have 1 grandchild nearby and we play Roblox and MineCraft - I cannot keep up. ;) Still quiet and shy, I enjoy staying in touch with friends, and look forward...(read more) |
