I remember Charlie Clements as a pain-in-the-butt patrol leader after Jeep McCarthy suddenly passed. He did not like my name for the newly established patrol for Troop 180 in Seattle, the 'Trout' patrol, led by the extremely capable George 'Gargoat' Gargett. Charlie thought it was stupid, and so we settled on the Falcon patrol. I was leader for awhile. He was a bit of a grousy type! Having send that, I am proud of his part in making our new patrol and of the long-lived friendship he and Arthur Bestor had (of the rival Elk patrol), and his death was a shock and saddening. BTW a shout out to Charlie Young of the Rebel patrol if he is reading. Charlie, I view you as one of the kindest people I have ever met. Hope you are doing well Pal.
