Alan went from Maple Leaf Grade School through Jane Addams Jr. High and on to Roosevelt, Everett Jr. High, and finally the University of Washington, plus 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Alan opened and managed the Lynnwood branch of his father's store, Ed's Surplus and Marine.

Alan was a longtime member of the Maple Leaf Evangelical United Brotherhood Church.

Alan was an avid amateur radio operator (Ham) continuously since 1954, call letters W7WJP.

Alan was a dear friend, truly missed every day! Sincerely, Jim Kenney
