The 55th RHS '69 Reunion is less than a month away! If you are planning to attend and have not already done so, please pre-register soon using the payment instructions in the attached Registration form. Registering and payment in advance (rather than at the door, which we request you please not do) will reduce the responsibilities of our check-in-table volunteers so they have more time to enjoy the reunion.
Do you feel lucky? In an astounding display of RHS '69 class loyalty and dedication to the legacy of Teddy Roosevelt and his Roughriders, our fellow classmate Terry Gregerson is generously donating not just one, but all five of these rare RHS-themed items to raffle off to classmates at our 55th Reunion:
2 uncirculated 1898 Morgan silver dollars commemorating Teddy Roosevelt
2 uncirculated 1901 silver dollars commemorating the Roughriders, and
1 small cowboy's change bag actually used during Teddy Roosevelt's life (Terry will neither confirm nor deny it was actually used by Teddy himself)
Two of the coins will be raffled off at the Duchess on 9/5/24 and the rest at the Magnuson Café on 9/6/24 (1 coin each to a female classmate, 1 coin each to a male classmate, and the change bag to either). Eligibility will be based on the advance registrations received by 9/4, to allow time to print the names for the raffle bowl.
That's right- all you need to do to be eligible is simply advance-register by 9/4 and attend the 55th Reunion. Here's the final scoop for the Class of 74, 45th 2019 Reunion, 9/20-9/22
Hope you can all come to one or more of the events. Please spread the word as I'm not sending individual email's to everyone (mostly because I don't have that many).
Friday night: RHS for casual get together and hopefully a tour of the school. If there's interest we can order pizza or you can bring your own. Time: 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
The Duchess Tavern - 7:00 pm - whenever
Saturday night: Let's meet at the Seattle Center Armory (used to be call the Food Court at the Seattle Center) for dinner and good laughs. This way everyone can come, you can get what you want to eat and there's plenty of room. Time 5:00 pm - whenever.
Sunday day: Gordon Jenkins' is organizing a bike ride from Magnuson Park to St. Michelle Winery on Sunday, Sept 22 at 10AM. We will meet at the Magnuson Brew Pub, and cycle on the Burke-Gilman trail (flat terrain) out to the winery. It's less than 40 miles round trip.
Take the tour, find some lunch, and head home!!
If it's raining, and we never leave the Brew Pub, then so be it.
If you are coming from out-of-town, then Magnuson Park has many electric bikes that can be rented.
Picking a start time, and a destination is my complete investment in the event. No RSVP. Be there, or be square.
