About Me	Attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. [Oct, 1962 - June, 1964] -U. S, Navy: enlisted July, 1965, Served on three ships; USS Diachenko [APD-123]: USS Arnold J. Isbell [DD-869]; USS Blue [DD-744]; went to Vietnam five times, separated from active duty, July, 1970. Honorably Discharged- April 1971 Went to Lakeland Comunity College, graduated first time in 1974. Rentered in fall of 1975, graduated in 1977. Met my wife at Lakeland, married in December of 1975. We moved to Tucson, Arizona in June of 1977. Worked at Canyon del Oro High School in Amphitheater public schools til June, 2001, Retired. Started training in Aikido at LCC with Linda Lee Vecchio, Sensei in September of 1972. I have continued my training and began to teach in non-credit classes at the High School where I worked. I taught there until june of 2002 when the school district raised rates to use the facility to a level that priced me out of being able to hold classes there. I was hired by the University of Arizona Campus Recreation Center in September of 1999 to teach Aikido classes there and continue to teach there today. I am currently ranked as a 6th Dan and hold the teaching certification of Shidoin. I received the promotion to 6th Dan in January of this year, 2014. I stepped down as Chief Instructor at he end of December 2016. I am still involved with the class and continue to participate. I also do volunteer work at the VA Hospital here in Tucson and am a Representative for Vietnam Veterans of America on the Volunteer Services Committee. My wife and I will have bee...(read more)
