Air Force, 4 Years
At the time, the Draft Board was drawing lottery numbers - lower the better - mine was about 95 when they were calling 100's. When I got my notice to report for a draft physical, I took it, then enlisted in the Air Force's Officer Training School. Sure, I have survivor's guilt, but I am alive with most limbs intact, and my most traumatic injury was simple brain damage from nightmares about WW-III.
