Thanks to many donations from Rincon Classmates we are getting close to replacing the broken tile logo. The target time is hopefully the end of May. There will be two logos. One to replace the broken tile logo in the sidewalk and one that will be placed on an outside wall where all Rangers will be able to see it. We are still looking for donations to pay for the placement of the two logos. Any amount is not too small. Thank you.

MARY SHRIVER passed away of COPD on fri june 30th, 2017 in Spokane, wa she lived next to me on McKinley st. she was my very first girlfriend. I found her thanks to the RINCON ALUMNI site after a very lengthy search,i had moved back to my home town INDIANAPOLIS,IN. we moved before I started high school. I had always wondered what life was like in TUCSON after I moved. she was a storehouse of information.we spent the next five years talking about our lives.she was such a pleasure to talk to. my wife and I traveled to TUCSON for our 50th anniversary. mary had told me about all the changes since I left and we explored them all.so I wanted to tell all her classmates that she had passed on.i miss her so much, steve

Busted By California
BUSTED BY CALIFORNIA When I graduated from Rincon High in 1968 It was CALIFORNIA OR BUST. Yes California
had it all an so much more. I lived in Los Angeles and worked in Industry for 10 years. I lived in San Diego and worked in high-rise architecture and large hospitals for the next 25 years or so. I was an architect, designer and artist. I obtained several degrees. I designed the reunion pins for the Class of 1968, 50th Rincon High reunion pin and others for Rincon events. I thought that I was smart. But it seemed I was always facing a recession every 12 years or so. I found myself laid-off for 2 to 4 years. Then it would take 2 to 4 years to regroup. And I would be advancing and enjoying life for the next 2 to 4 years before the next recession like now. In 2009 I had a great job, several custom house projects and consultant work in China. I knew shortly I would have my own house built and do only my projects in the future. No more psycho bosses or pie-in-the -sky clients. I would have design and personal freedom finally. But It all disappear quickly. I was shocked and laid-off again. I have been out of work for over three years. I see nothing on the horizon. The 401K has evaporated again. I am down to rock bottom. But I have a great professional portfolio and art background. All my family and most friends have left Tucson. I thought that i may return to live in Tucson. I was never foolish. But it seemed that the cost of living was always ahead of reality. Yes there is always more to the story. And yes social security will be available in the near future. No I am not done yet. I just need to regroup to another lifestyle. unfortunately i will be unable to attend the next reunion. Yes I admit that I have been BUSTED BY CALIFORNIA. As of March 2012 I moved to Guanajuato Mexico to continue MY ART. Coolbyrondesigner @ yahoo.com Byron Keener Class of 1968
