| About Me | I retired March 2020 and moved to Hawaii in June 2020. Married and divorced twice. Longest relationship was 25 years and we weren’t married. After HS graduation I went to work for Geico and started performing in clubs in DC. Worked for Phillip Morris Co as Miss Virginia Slims promoting the brand. Moved to St Louis with Butch Angel who was at St Louis Univ. Was invited to L A by Iron Butterfly bass player Doug Dorman if I ever wanted to pursue music. Two months later I was in Hollywood living the life of all things rock and roll. Next door neighbor was Dionne Warwick and she was on tour a lot so I became friends with her husband, actor Bill Elliott. He showed me around the town and I met other actors, Clint Eastwood was among them and Paul Newman. I got a job singing at Red Fox’s club. We lived a block up the hill from The Whiskey AGo Go and I hung out there and met 3 Dog Night, Blues Image, The Doors, too many other groups to recall, especially since I was stoned a lot! Butch joined me and we got our own place down on De Longpre near the Aquarius theatre. I gave birth to my daughter Amber in the backseat of a 67 Mustang convertible in 8 minutes on The Hollywood Freeway. It was 1969 and I thought of naming her Mustang Sally!! lol Anyway a quick summary…. Moved back to Maryland started a commune on Layhill Rd. After a couple years moved down on the water near Annapolis. Then moved to Kensington. Then a big move to New Mexico, Santa Fe was my favorite place to live. Eli was born when I lived on Chalk Point so he was a little over 2 when we moved to N M. We had a VW camper that we. drove over 100,000 miles in. I loved it. Long story short, I married Butch when we returned from Cali and being the mad genius that he was he turned into a psycho schizophrenic who tried to kill me several times when he was one of his alternate personalities. I won’t go into that any further. I was rescued by my knight in shining armor, Tull Morgan and we moved to Clearwater Florida for a year. I was working at Suburban Hospital when I met Tull and we stayed together for a few years. He ran his family’s movie studio in DC where I got to meet and perform with Joe Cocker, Ron Wood and SRV. Tull and I split up short Lu after I gave my last performance in Bethesda at Durty Nellies on my 40th birthday. The next 25 years were filled with doing drugs, quitting drugs, staying clean ever since. I can’t say that I was lured into that world by someone else because I loved to get high and I didn’t need anyone else to get me there. After that life ended I stayed with the man who I traveled down that cocaine Highway with and he got clean too. After working at PIMC for 5 years and then for other doctors I settled on Internal Medicine and worked for him until I retired. I have 4 beautiful granddaughters and one awesome great grandson who lives here with his mama, my daughter and her husband and me ! I skipped over my years of horror but just let me say that when you live with a crazy person you try and fix them and when you can’t you accept your fate and live that crazy life as if it was normal, and in my case that was 10 years of hell.
