About Me	I have many things that I love and enjoy that bring happiness into my life. My family, friends, medicine and poetry. I love to create and write poetry as well as exploring my favorite authors, their history and orgins. I especially have an interest and love for the medical field. I love patient care and helping people in need. If I can be of service, ease ones pain, or hold their hand to calm their fears, this makes my day! I have been married for thirty eight years to my wife and sweetheart, Lalani Deann McDonald McKay. We met through a LDS church youth group as teens.We have three grown children, our daughter Heather, and our two sons, Sean and Christopher. Dee has been with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 33 years working as a Dietary Technician and Food Services Worker. She is certified as a Pastry Chef. She is also a Care Provider with the County of Los Angeles, In-Home Supportive Services program. Sean is married to the former Dana Marie Connally now for six years. Both are pursuing their careers hoping and continuing their educational goals. Dana is currently in school for Emergency Care as a Emergency Medical Technician. She is expecting our first grandchild in December, a baby boy named Michael Brenden. Michael was born at 10:59PM on December 28, 2011. Heather and Christopher has developmental and cognitive learning disabilities. Both are living in group homes and work in a skilled workshop day program for the handicapped. They are Regional Center clients and receive specialized training and assistance to meet their needs. Heather resides in Lancaster and Chris is in Delano. We see them often and they spend time with the family on weekends. My brother Brian has been married for six years to my Sister-in-Law Marisa. She is a kind and loving spirit who brings light and joy into the home. We love having her as an addition to our extended family. Brian is working for an engineering firm as a Computer and Software Specialist and in Program Analysis. He is also a Project Manager. They reside in Menlo Park near San Francisco and I understand Marisa is pursuing a medical career in Nursing. I have be fortunate and have had the privilege to be able to train and work in the Medical field. I am a National Registered In-Flight EMT-Paramedic. I have worked both in the Rescue Ambulance as well Clinical aspects of the Hospital Emergency Room. The bulk of my assignments have been in Air Rescue and Support Operations. I am in the process of pursuing advanced training in Emergency Medicine as a Registered Nurse. I want to gain additional experience and strengthen my talents and abilities through continued education. I served in the U.S. Navy as Hospital Corpsman. I was medically retired due to complications with diabetes. I am a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 39, American Legion, Post 311, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3000. I enjoy participating in these organizations and with my fellow post members members. These are a great group of dedicated veterans who have served their county proudly with pride and honor. I have a Commercial Drivers license and have traveled in twenty eight states thus far. I love to read poetry and have been writing poems based upon my life and personal experiences. This has been a work in progress project for many years. I hope be published one day as it is something I love, and I have found a creative side I didn't know I had. I hope my poems will touch the lives of others, and inspire those who read them. I love animals of all kinds, and have a Rottweiler as well as four cats. We also have an aquarium and enjoy tropical fish. My love and passion is life, my family, friends, and the hope of reaching out and touching lives through my writing and through Nursing.
