| About Me | I serve as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education and the DIO at UC San Diego School of Medicine. After graduating from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an S.B. Degree in Chemistry, I received my M.D. from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. I then completed my Pediatric Residency and Fellowship Training at UCSD in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition. Then I joined the UCSD Pediatrics Department in the Division of Gastroenterology in 2000 with a primary focus on translational research in Pediatric Colon Cancer genetics and its pathogenesis. I attend as a faculty physician in Pediatric GI at UC San Diego, at Rady Children’s Hospital. Previous to my current assignment as Associate Dean, I served as the Residency Program Director for Pediatrics at UCSD. I have received Industry and Extramural grants for my work in Early Risk Colon Cancer. In 2001, I was awarded an NIH grant for my work on Hamartomatous Polyposis Syndromes. I enjoy writing chapters and manuscripts on Pediatric Colon Cancers, and speaking nationally on this topic. I continue to practice clinical Pediatric GI, especially in Pediatric colon cancer genetics. I am also passionate about teaching and serves as mentors to students, residents, fellows and junior faculty. My husband and I call San Diego our home, with their 2 teenage children.
