| Favorite School Memory | As sports editor, it was thrilling to write about the Ranger football capping an unbeaten season with a Valley title. My first varsity win on the wrestling team was also a highlight. The 1970s was a great time to be in high school. |
| About Me | Attended COS where I wrestled, served as ASB VP, and worked as an assistant editor of the student newspaper. Transferred to Fresno State, where I earned a BA in journalism. Edited corporate newspaper for Mervyn's. I couldn't afford to live in the Bay Area, so I left. I returned to Fresno to find my way because there were not many journalism jobs. Married my wife Cheryl in 1981. We have two sons, Scott and Brett. Became a self-employed sales rep for many years until I started to coach my sons' sports teams and discovered I liked teaching. I went back to school to get my credential and now teach elementary school. Our son Scott kept us busy. He played football and wrestled for Clovis High, where he was a captain for the wrestling team which won three Valley titles and one state championship teams. He also captained the football team to a Valley title in the fall of 2002, 29 years after RHS won its title. He earned a scholarship to West Point, where he continued to wrestle, earning a national ranking and NCAA berth in 2008 as a senior. Our youngest son Brett had his own success at Clovis High, earning our family's second state wrestling championship ringn 2008.
