About Me	After high school, I enlisted in the USMC. I served 4 years of active duty. I got married in 1998 while still on active duty and in 1999 I rejoined my wife in Tucson and partially rejoined the civilian world and worked while being a member of the Marine Corps Reserve. I moved from Tucson to Athens, GA in 2000 and worked while my wife attended graduate and law school. In 2004 we moved again, this time to Charleston, SC where she got a job teaching and I began college. I earned a BA and BS in 2008 and after 10 years my wife and I decided that we would be better off going our separate ways. I have since moved to Buffalo, NY where I am in graduate school pursuing an MA and PhD and am attempting to reenlist in the Marine Corps Reserves, though I am having some troubles with the latter. I have had wonderful opportunities since leaving high school. The Marine Corps did right by me and gave me opportunities I wouldnâ€™t have discovered otherwise. And while the occupational skills I learned there didnâ€™t translate into a life-long career, I was still able to walk away with the knowledge that when I DID find my passion, that Iâ€™d have the direction and dedication to see it through. I was fortunate to find that my freshman year of college. One of my professors was taking a group of students to Turkey for an archaeological field school. I took his course and another in archaeology offered by another professor. Those combined with the field work that following summer got me hooked.
