About Jack Lee King, 78, of Parkersburg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed from this life June 2009, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.

Mr. King was born June 1930, at Huntington, a son of the late M. Ward and Mabel Williams King.

He was a mechanical engineer, retiring from GE Plastics after 30 years service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 15, and the WVU Alumni Association. Mr. King was a graduate of Ravenswood High School and the WVU School of Engineering. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Sixty years ago he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Bare King, who survives, along with daughters Cheryl Rae Brumfield of Vienna, Jan Lee Nicely and her husband Steve, Rita Jo Starling and her husband Lendell, and Suzanne Mae King, all of Parkersburg; sons Jack Lee King, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Ashland, KY, and Mark Edward King and his wife Sherrie of Parkersburg; sister Joanne Abel of Parkersburg; brothers Howard W. “Stinkey” King, Sr. of Murraysville and Ralph Carl King of Ravenswood; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with the Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Allen officiating.

Graveside services were with military honors by Ravenswood VFW Post 5669 at the Ravenswood Cemetery.
