About Me	A former city councilman and best selling author of THE SHIPYARD: Will It Float?, I provide illustrated special interest lectures on cruise ships; to fraternal and civic organizations and private gatherings; and in museums and libraries. My subjects reflect a lifetime interest in the sea and include, for example, the big ships; submarines; odd and unusual boats; the Boston Harbor Islands; a famous shipyard; naval aviation; a baffling island mystery in Canada; a spectacular treasure in gold; classic sea adventures; and a personal journey under sail. I was born into a ship-building dynasty that spanned three generations and included an association with Thomas Watson’s legendary Fore River Shipyard that continued through several decades. Fore River's legacy included many great ships that figured prominently in the history of the United States. As a docent with the National Museum of Naval Aviation for the last fourteen years, I fulfill a second lifetime interest: aviation history. Selected to represent the museum’s spectacular collection I include stories of daring and courageous aviators, such as President Bush and Senator John McCain, who lived to tell their incredible stories.
