About Me | Helen Ferguson -Fritchen, class of 1963 Aftr High School, I attempted to cram as much living into each and every day, as I could. I still enjoy learning something new every day. I'm the mother of four fantastic children: one son, three daughters, and sixteen grandchildren who all call me "granny". I am after all their favorite grandmother. I will always enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy spending money, but never seem to have enough of it. After High School I traveled to Hollywood, California. I was discovered to be a "move star", but after several months, I got home sick and blew this wonderful oppurtunity by going back to Utah. I married the sweetheart that I fell in love with when I was only fifteen. Dam. I was such an idot, but thought I knew more than my parents did. I was always independent and wish that I would have listened to the advice of my parents better. Life lesson number three "listen and obey your parents." However, my very intelligent daughter Allyson always tells me "don't dam your past, because your past is what has made you the intelligent, kind, evolved, and fantastic person that you are today." I have learned great but difficult lessons. It was hard to be a single parent, but my children as well as myself grew from these experiences. It took me twenty years, but I finally graduated from college with double the credits I needed. I became an LPN then, an RN. I was a nurse for over thirty years. My life lesson would be "I don't know anything". As a blank slate, I'm teachable. While married to LD and living in Blanding, Utah I was chairwoman of the Blanding City Fourth of July Beauty Pageant and Beard Growing Contest. Then, I was chairwoman of the San Juan County Beauty Pageant. I obtained the official Miss America Pageant for our young girls who are still entering the Miss America Pageant via Miss Utah every year. Then, I got divorced. Over the next nine years, I remarried, and divorced three more times. In 1989 I met and remarried for the fourth time, the love of my life Randy Fritchen. Liver disease from an "X" facter Randy inherited from his parents took his life in 2003. We met at Halloween dance, because of the happiness I experineced at that time in my life, I still love Halloween. I admit that I was a mess for several years prior to meeting my Randy. I managed to attend college, become the vice president of a "Woman's Single Group", PTA President of my daughter's High School, room mother every year, attend college, create a business, work and raise my children as a single parent. My Randy along with a good therapist helped to pick up the pieces remaining from being a battered wife. Randy always lifted me up and encouraged me. He was extremely kind and intelligent and taught me to always "Be true to myslef" --Shakepear-- Together, we wrote a self-help book series, screenplays and novels. He always held a hand out to life me up. He never abused me, which made him extremely special to me. Today, I'm a freelance writer. I started and own Bright Star Films, LC.. I also started and own a non-prophet charity called Solutions Instead of Suicide, LLC (SIS). SIS gladly accepts tax deductable donations. If interested just contact me. I think life is difficult for all of us. Rather than grumble about it, I have learned to focus on the possitive rather than the negative. If there's a bump in the road, go around it. There are people that want to slap me for being so possitive. Oh, well. I still love life. Sure I have had some problems, but I wouldn't have had anything to learn from if I didn't. I have had some health issues, money issues, and certainly love issues, and I'm grateful all of it. I still haven't walked accross that stage to collect my acadamy award for "Best Movie of the Year", I still haven't been to Hawaii, and I haven't won the lottery. So, there is still plenty to live for. I look back at my High School years as being a million yeas ago, but happy. I still twinge at the fact that I must have been the most naive person on the earth. I sincerely wish each and every one of you (including you, Mr. Doctor that called yourself a mud fense) all of the happiness, joy and wealt...(read more) |
