Eric Randall Johnson

Class of 1978

Eric is the winningest Masters Track and Field athlete in Utah history. He has won the 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 Utah Best of State Amateur Athlete of the Year Award and 2008 Utah Best of State Statue Award for Sports(Utah Sportsman of the Year). Eric has won over 200 championship medals since 2001. He was the fastest runner in the world in 2002 in the 50 meter dash. Eric is one of the few athletes in the world to be ranked in the top 25 in the USA in 6 events: 50 meter dash, 55 meter dash, 60 meter dash, 400 meter hurdles, Javelin, and Triple Jump. He was the silver medalist in the 50 meters at the 2005 State Games of America and Bronze medalist in the 400 meter hurdles at the 2007 State Games of America. After running at Provo high, Eric ran the sprints at BYU.

2009 Best of State Utah Amateur Athlete of the Year, and 2009 State Games of America National Champion in the: 110 Meter High Hurdles, 400 meter Intermediate Hurdles, 1500 meter Racewalk, and Silver medalist in the long jump and triple jump. Was also named USA track and Field All-American and All-World by World Masters Athletics in the 110 meter hurdles in the 45-49 age group.
