This is Dave Prescott writing again on August 10, 2023 with a couple updates. First, the musical performance by "The Bulldawgs" has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Pastor Bill Diehm will be providing the blessing and a closing prayer and will preside over the memorial remarks for our deceased classmates. The remainder of the schedule remains intact as was described February 24, 2023. At last count, we had 54 confirmed banquet reservations. This is Dave Prescott writing again on February 24, 2023 with more reunion details. The dates are September 29-October 1, 2023 in Poland, OH. The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Boardman-Youngstown at 7410 South Avenue and US-224. A reduced room rate of $119.00/night is available for each of the three nights by calling the Holiday Inn at (330) 726-1611 and requesting this special rate for the Poland Seminary High School Class of 1973 Reunion. Friday evening, September 29 there will be a private event for our class at "The Magic Tree", across South Avenue from the Holiday Inn from 5-11pm. We have rented "The Front Room" there for those six hours as a private gathering spot for our class to hang out together. There is no entry fee. We will have our own bar and bartender. You may come and go throughout the evening and spend as much or as little as you wish individually for food and drink. We will have access to the private room, the public bar area(where there may be a band performing that night), and the outside patio/firepit area. Our idea is to provide a venue and extended time for classmates to gather and enjoy each other's company with no structure. Our MAIN EVENT will be the banquet/dance at the Holiday Inn on Saturday, 9/30/2023 from 6-11pm with check-in beginning at 5:30pm. There will be a cash bar(complimentary for the first hour), a buffet dinner, a professional DJ, and a "once in a lifetime" musical performance by "The Bulldawgs" featuring Darry "deeVANAD" Roseman, Tom Ciavarella, and Bill Diehm. Randy Tinney(PSHS 1974) and Jim Escaja(Cardinal Mooney 1974) round out the band. Jeff Bees is the Treasurer for the reunion. Anita Dragel Chearno is the Assistant Treasurer and, according to Jeff, "will be closely monitoring his every move". They have opened a checking account at the Poland Huntington Bank to receive all funds and cover the expenses. All reunion expenses will be paid by a physical check requiring both Jeff's and Anita's signature. The cost for the reunion banquet has been set at $75.00 per person attending.
