About Me	Jeffery Dunn Community Development Overview Jeffery Dunn has been a catalyst in the collaboration of the Business One Stop Service (BOSS). The BOSS is a synergistic merge of The Incubator (a privately owned business incubator managed by Jeffery) and the free business development resources of the SBA, SBDC and SCORE. The Incubator is one of the very few places in the state of New Jersey where you can make an appointment for all three organizations in the same location. The BOSS is also a partner of the County Career One Stop located in Plainfield, NJ. This network of business development organizations, career development, human services, and training government agencies acknowledges and respects the expensive and scarce commodities of corporations and small business....Time and Money! Mr. Dunn is a vocal and active member (former chair of committees and member of executive board) of the County Workforce Investment Board and an activist for many matters regarding small business, contractor workforce issues and contracting challenges. He is active in many faith-based activities to empower small business development within the urban and minority communities. His volunteer contribution was directed in many areas, from SBDC and faith-based workshops to state-wide conferences to empower the state's CDC's (community development corporations) within the mega churches of the urban communities to share their commercial success stories. Mr. Dunn is active on several boards including the local Chamber of Commerce, SCORE Board of Advisors, and the former Neighborhood Empowerment Council (NEC). As NEC economic development chair and member of the executive committee, a number of successful committees were spawned, empowering local residents to work within the city, county and state in various areas of economic development. The NEC, the SID, and the Chamber have collectively and in part become local community think tanks for sharing political networks, a range of information that would apply broadly to the community, as well as a link to contracting/subcontracting information for local corporations and small businesses. Mr. Dunn has been chosen as a Small Business Administration (SBA) Champion for 2006 for the State of New Jersey and Region II (NY, NJ, PR, and the US Virgin Islands). He has empowered others as a speaker, trainer and community leader and is active in a variety of transitional soft skills and technical training programs. This technical empowerment has led various members of the community, including minority and small businesses, to confront the many issues of the digital divide in a variety of opportunities in the tri-state area. Mr. Dunn has mentored, coached and consulted with many CEOs of large corporations, retail businesses, small and minority businesses on a variety issues including job creation/workforce development, career development, customer service, contracting, community development and local, county, state, & federal contracting, community obligation, contracting responsibilities, political expectations and, most important, the culture of bridging the gaps between the management issues of the small businesses and the various levels of government networking, cont...(read more)
