Jack Hilton Cunningham

Class of 1955

An MFA graduate in Theatre Design from Brooklyn College in 1968, Jack has designed scenery and costumes for opera and theatre in educational, regional, and off- and off-off Broadway in New York City. His most recent work has been designing scenery for Retro Productions in New York City. Jack published his first play, WOMEN and WAR, with Samuel French, Inc., in 2011 and has enjoyed numerous productions since it’s publication. As a writer he has 3 additional plays in process and a novel currently being considered for publication. Jack, born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, has been a resident of Brooklyn, NY for the past 40 years. This spring Jack and his wife, Catherine Rebecca Erwin Cunningham, also from Pineville, will be honored as Distinguished Alumni by the Department of Theater of Brooklyn College of NYC.
