| About Me | Worked 37+ years for DuPont. Included assignments in Wilm (DE), Martinsburg (WV), Troy (MI), Wuppertal (Germany). Travelled on assignment throughout Europe as well as to Shanghai, Mexico City, Mumba iand Bankok as well. Retired in 2010 as Global Finance Business Process Owner for DuPont Performance Coatings business. The past 4 years have been quite challenging. Was diagnosed w/ Multiple Myeloma (a rare blood cancer) in March 2014. Had a craniotomy 3/27 to remove a large tumor. Phase 1 of treatment started April - July. Started preparations for Phase 2 (Stem Cell Transplant) in August. Stem Cell collection was in Nov. I was admitted to Emory University Hospital (Atlanta, GA) Dec 7. Received powerful dose of Chemo. Stem cells retuned on Dec 9. My new 2nd birthday. Remarkably, everything went according to the text book. Was released to Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society) for up to 2 weeks. I was able to return to Clemson after my 1st checkup after 5 days. Started my maintenance drug regimen in March 2015. Chemo 1x/week for 3 weeks then a week off. After 2 years, some the indicators suggested renewed activity so regimen was changed to chemo 2x/week and double dose of a chemo caps I took daily (21 days then 7 days off). This seemed to control the issue until my 3 yr post transplant check. I started new drug regimen January 2018. 8 consecutive weeks of chemo followed by 4 months of treatments every other week.
